  • Rhythm of Art spring break workshop (for students in grades 1-6) - The Rhythm of Art spring break workshop for students in grades 1-6 will be held from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Figge Art Museum and the River Music Experience. The workshop will introduce the concept of rhythm in both visual art and music. Students will create percussion instruments at the Figge and play them in a drum circle at the River Music Experience. It will include a Figge tour and a performance by Ellis Kell. Participants must bring snacks, sack lunch, and beverage. Cost is $35; $30 for members. Email to register.

  • Mississippi River Visitor Center - The Mississippi River Visitor Center, Locks and Dam 15, Rock Island, is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. except for Thanksgiving Day, from noon Christmas Eve day through Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. The center is on the west end of Arsenal Island near the Government Bridge between Davenport and Rock Island. Watch towboats pass through the locks.
